I was absolutely horrified when I heard Amazon had stopped selling dildos! How could they do this? Has prudishness taken over the world? I couldn’t believe it, there’s a whole segment of the population who might miss out on getting fantastic pleasure toys! I was determined to find out what had happened; Something didn’t add up.
After doing some digging, it turns out that Amazon only stopped selling some dildos made from porous materials, like jelly rubber. Apparently these materials can harbor bacteria. The risk is simply too great. It makes sense why Amazon would be interested in cutting them out of their inventory.
So the bad news is, it’s harder to find those cheap and cheerful jelly rubber dildos these days. Although, the good news is that there are now plenty of other options available. Silicone is much more hygienic, so it’s a win-win.
The great thing about silicone dildos is that they come in all shapes and sizes. And of course, there are the vibrating ones! You can get battery powered ones or even rechargeable versions. Honestly, I get why Amazon axed the jelly rubber ones, but I’m also relieved there are still so many choices available.
Sex toys were pretty stigmatized until only a couple of decades back, so it’s nice to see people speaking openly about it. It’s no longer such a shady topic. In fact, people even discuss toys in public forums and openly review them. And let’s face it, sex is a beautiful thing and toys can make it even better!
As a woman in my 20s, I can certainly appreciate adult toys. It’s a tool to help women who are lonely or have difficulty with sex. It brings a little brightness into our lives and can be a real stress reliever. Not to mention, it’s a great tool for opening up conversations about healthy sex.
Sex toys can certainly be a touchy subject, but it’s really everyone’s own business. For some, it’s a great way to explore your own self. Others may use it as a way to spice things up with their partners. Either way, it’s a great way to get creative and add some fun to your sex life.
